We work alongside the St Barnabas’ palliative care team who coordinate care for those who have funding through the NHS for palliative care. The palliative care team outsources assistance with packages of care from community services such as Honeycomb Care when they are unable to provide cover using the Marie Curie service.
Honeycomb Care regularly aids in the cover of palliative night care for those who are being cared for in their own homes under the end of life care pathway.
For more information on how this funding is issued and eligibility please contact the
St Barnabas team.
At Honeycomb Care we work alongside CHC and ICB who fund care packages for those who qualify for NHS funding following assessment by clinical commissioning groups according to a legally prescribed decision making process that determines whether the person has a ‘primary health need’.
Once a decision has been made regarding eligibility for funding, if funding is granted CHC will refer packages of care onto community agencies such as ourselves. If we pick up your package of care we will organise a member of the management team to meet with you and your family or important people to you, to discuss your needs and how you would like to be cared for.
We also will receive a care prescription that outlines health needs which we will use as part of our care planning process. We will discuss with you which carers we feel would best be placed to meet your needs and discuss a comprehensive, bespoke care plan that will be put in place to ensure your needs are met.
Honeycomb Care’s Supported Living service is designed to help people with a wide range of support needs to keep their independence and be supported within the setting of their own home.
We understand that everyone has a different level of care and the areas we cover are full time live in care, days, nights or shorter periods of time, the smallest package of care we provide is 6 hours per day/night.
Our overnight carers support the welfare of the most vulnerable people. Our team are experienced in providing the security, support and peace of mind needed for clients and their families to get a good night's rest.
Overnight care is often required for people with conditions such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Dementia and Diabetes, those with complex needs, people at risk from injuries due to mobility issues, those of end of life care or those requiring repositioning, medication or treatment during the night.
Overnight care is ideal for people who live alone or provide support to a family who are unable to provide the care supervision required 24 hours a day.
You may require this support over a long term period or just perhaps for a short respite time, either way we are here to provide the help required when you need it the most.
Sometimes referred to as “Eldercare”, our Elderly Care service can help to support senior citizens to retain independence in their homes.
With age, we will all face a stage in life where it can become more challenging to complete some of the tasks that we once took for granted such as cooking, cleaning, food shopping or even getting out of bed. Eldery Care support can help to ensure that these tasks are still completed safely so that you or your loved one can remain in their home with support.
You may require this support on a short term basis with help on a few days a week whilst you recover from surgery or illness, or perhaps a longer term solution, whether that be 6 hours a day or more around the clock support. The minimum package of care we cater for is 6 hours per day/night.
Honeycomb Care offer live in care services, this is where we match a carer to your needs, interests and personality where possible and they move into your home with you for a minimum of a week at a time.
A member of the management team will come out to meet you and your family, friends or important people in your life and conduct a full assessment of your care and health needs along with your needs and wishes.
Our live-in carers don’t just provide support with health and care needs but they also support with social and emotional needs; companionship, social needs to assist you in keeping relationships and hobbies to ensure for the fulfillment of a healthy and balanced lifestyle and mindset.
In England there are an estimated 1.4 million older people who are chronically lonely due to social isolation sometimes as a result of the loss of a spouse, mobility issues or reduced confidence.
Companionship Care provides an opportunity for conversation, friendship and reduced isolation. The service can be tailored to suit your needs, based on the frequency and length that you would like the visits to take place. You may like to just sit and chat in your home with a cup of tea, take a walk to the park or a day out. The service is flexible to suit your needs on a daily, weekly or infrequent basis.
Providing care for friends or family when they become ill, elderly or require additional support can be a very time consuming and stressful situation that can quickly become exhausting and in some circumstances affect your health. It can be difficult to balance the sense of duty and care you feel versus the professional level of care and support that your loved one may need. The respite care service that Honeycomb Care provides can help to balance this.
Our respite care service provides one to one care to assist you with your care plan for a short or long term period. This service takes place in your own home, which allows the client to remain in familiar surroundings and keep the freedom of independence and social interaction that they enjoy.
