The Great British Care Awards are a series of regional events throughout the UK that celebrate excellence in all its forms, paying tribute to those individuals who are the best within their field of work.
With representation from across the full sector of Care, colleagues are brought together to recognise the very best in care provision, training, innovation and more.
The awards are all inclusive, bringing together the statutory, independent and voluntary sectors, aswell as unpaid carers.
At an event with so many great individuals, Honeycomb Care’s Rachel French was delighted to be the recipient of ‘The Palliative Care / End Of Life Carer Of The Year Award’. The award, given to the person who demonstrates the most outstanding levels of professionalism and care is reserved for those who are able to demonstrate the highest level of support for someone who is at the end of their life.
Rachel, who has been working for Lincoln based Honeycomb Care since 2020, began her palliative care career upon joining the company. Although having a care background previously, Rachel’s growth within the palliative care role has been astounding, having completed an NVQ Level 3, attained a higher level Medication qualification, and completed a number of Higher Level End of Life training courses within the 3 year period.
Bianca Maifadi, Honeycomb Care’s Managing Director commented, “Rachel goes above and beyond for her clients, without thinking she is doing anything special. I nominated Rachel for the award because we recognised that she is an amazing carer who has made an extremely difficult time for many families just that little bit easier. Rachel is excellent at providing support and guidance to families in need, using her expertise to fully understand how to support people on their end of life journey. Rachel is an amazing asset to our team and I am so proud of her and all she has achieved.”
"We are proud of the whole team for their continued commitment and quality of care that they provide our clients. This award is a testament to their hard work."
After receiving this East Midlands regional award, Rachel has now qualified for the National Finals, hosted on 22nd March at the ICC, Birmingham, hosted by celebrity guest Rylan Clark.
